The Molotov Cocktail Hour 5-15-12

May 15, 2012 @ 10:00 pm - May 16, 2012 @ 12:00 am

Incorrigibly situated in the heart of Encino, The Mahi-Mahi Room graciously tolerates Cyrano, Señor Amor and Special Agent Lotus broadcasting every Tuesday on KXLU 88.9 FM. At 10PM we embark on our voyage from the monkey-laden temples of Bali to a dangerous disco in Delhi, and ease into a lit lounge in Lodi. Like the crew of the Flying Dutchman, The HMS Molotov slowly sinks through international waters and sonic seas, hitting the sandy bottom when midnight has a stroke.

To listen to our shows live turn you radio dial to KXLU 88.9 from 10:00 to midnight. Perhaps you are abroad and traveling on your own secret mission or your radio was destroyed in a drunken brawl, do not fear, you can Click here to download the iphone App or click here for live streaming.

With the passing of auto racer/designer/chili cook Carroll Shelby we pay tribute with a clip from a Japanese documentary about the Toyota 2000GT and the Surfers de Los Campeones rev it up in agreement. We follow that up with a fantastically danceable tracks from a Jolly-Rancher green 7 incher from the new “Long Live Boogaloo” double LP out on Secret Stash. A touch of Jamaican funk, Pakistani surf, Daptone rising star Charles Bradley (who decided to start his career at age 62). we close things out with some spine tingling sounds courtesy of the duo known as Sapan Jagmohan (and the cheapest organ ever bought on India’s Craig’s List) and the Mighty Hannibal promises to keep it going All Nite Long.
